At Sano Physiotherapy we understand that achieving success in the commercial marketplace is highly dependent on maintaining a healthy and fit workforce. The  ‘HSE Research Report 493’ in 2006 clearly outlines that both early intervention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries will result in a faster resolution of the underlying problem and, more importantly, a decrease in the chance of reoccurrence and ultimately a reduction in sickness absence.

All employers have a duty of care to protect the health and safety of their employees, however lack of expertise in injury management and in individual workstation design can allow costly mistakes to be made resulting in increased sickness absence and decreased productivity.

With repetitive strain injuries costing employers £300 million per annum in lost working time, sick pay and administration (ACPOHE) and the cost of sickness absence in local authorities alone coming in at 3 times that at £900 million each year (The Ministerial Taskforce for Health, Safety and Productivity/The Cabinet Office) it makes good sense that you put the health and well-being of your workforce in experienced and competent medical hands.

From experience, we know that companies have individual requirements from any occupational health service, therefore we offer a therapy service that is flexible and can provide the appropriate solution in each individual case.

Our 5 core beliefs, underpinning treatment solutions are:

  • The therapy service must be supported by a sound evidence base, where possible.
  • Results must be measurable using validated outcome measures (which adhere to SMART goals).
  • The service must be audited using appropriate sickness absence data.
  • Communication is fundamental in achieving a successful service, therefore every company we work with receive detailed updates and reports with recommendations for further management where applicable.
  • Having an underlying knowledge of the work and environment your staff are in is key to providing relevant functional rehabilitation, which is designed to keep people in work.

We can arrange site visits in order to implement the last 2 core beliefs effectively, which will help us determine the stresses that the individual’s working environment will place on any occupational injury. This can also allow us to liaise with the relevant Human Resources managers and/or line managers who we will deal with and communicate with throughout the smooth, flawless rehabilitation process.

We can also either treat your employees at your venue or at one of our well-equipped and conveniently located clinics in your area. We also offer postural education seminars for up to 20 employees at a time as well as back and neck education classes to prevent work-related spinal problems from occurring in the first place.

Our flexible pay structure is based on location and the requirements of the particular company and the number of injury referrals.  We are registered physiotherapists for the majority of private medical insurance companies including AXA PPP, HSA Simply Health, Remedi, Cigna etc.

Very pleased with the treatment and advice recieved by Sarah at the North Shields branch for a back injury, her friendly and chatty manor helped distract during uncomfortable parts of the treatment and the progress made has been fantastic! So pleased to go from major discomfort with no sleep and constant pain relief to mild symptoms that can be self managed with the appropriate exercises feels great to feel normal again. Would highly recommend
