Josie was amazing. She took time and showed genuine concern when she first started treatment on me. 3 months after my accident I feel loads better as well as having some knowledge and tools to help myself on the rest of my recovery.

Oninye (Judith) Ilonuba

Role: Physiotherapist

Qualification: BSc Physiotherapy and MSc Sports Physiotherapy

I have been practicing for over 4 years. I have always had an interest in MSK and Sports rehabilitation, and my recent MSc in Sports Physiotherapy at Teesside University provided me the opportunity to work with a professional football club which adds to the value and level of experience I contribute to Sano. I’m very dedicated and motivated to constantly improve myself and provide the best. My interests include watching football, playing games, reading novels, staying fit, and music.

Overall a very professional environment. My physiotherapist Judith was very helpful during the time that I had spent there.

Afsah Asad

Role: Senior Physiotherapist

Qualification: BSc Physiotherapy and MSc Advanced Physiotherapy Practice

I am a Senior Physiotherapist at Sano Physiotherapy. Previously I have worked in East London with NELFT NHS Trust in Community set up, then in John Radcliff Hospital with Oxfordshire NHS Trust in Acute Medicine ward and last but not the least with Physio and Health Matters in Redditch and in Warwick University, treated patients privately, through insurance companies, occupational health and others associated with Worcestershire NHS Trust. Personally, I love sports a lot. Love to participate in different sports activities, specifically cricket, basketball and table tennis. I love mountain biking but above of all I love cooking, as I am a foodie and shopping, as I am a shopaholic!

Ashfa has really been the best! Always made me feel super comfortable and I have seen great improvement in pain after my accident!

Matthew Gibson

Role: Physiotherapist

Qualification: BSc Physiotherapy and MSc Physiotherapy

I am a dedicated physiotherapist with over 10 years’ experience in sports therapy and recently completed Pre-Reg master’s degree in Physiotherapy that has further strengthened my clinical knowledge. I’m passionate about building meaningful connections with patients—supporting, motivating, and guiding them through every stage of their recovery. Whether managing complex cases or providing day-to-day physiotherapy treatment, I’m driven by a genuine commitment to improving people’s health, wellbeing, and confidence.

I thrive on the variety each day brings and the privilege of helping individuals return to the activities that matter most to them. In my spare time, I enjoy playing cricket in the summer months, working as a physiotherapist for a local football team, travelling whenever I can, and spending quality time with my young family.

As this was my first experience of a physio assessment I had no idea what to expect, but was made to feel really comfortable and came away feeling informed and confident on next steps. Lovely clinic with great staff. Highly recommended!

Emily Walker

Role: Physiotherapist

Qualification: BSc Physiotherapy and MSc Physiotherapy

I graduated with a Master’s in Physiotherapy from the University of Bradford in 2024. Since qualifying, I’ve gained experience working pitch side as well as in the private MSK sector, treating a wide range of injuries and supporting patients through their rehabilitation journey. I’m passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and return confidently to the activities they enjoy.

Outside of work, I’m a self-confessed animal print enthusiast. If it comes in leopard print, chances are I own at least two!

Physio sessions at Sano really helped with pain and movement with my shoulder injury. Fantastic physio.
